To start bidding, locate your chosen car whilst logged into My Grays. Bids can be placed in two ways: Standard Bid and Autobid A Standard Bid To place a Standard bid, select a bid price from the drop down menu and click 'place bid'.
As a general rule most bidders will select the next increment needed to win the item. Ensure the Standard bid button is highlighted, select the quantity of the item you want and the bid price you wish pay. Once you confirm your bid you will be shown a bid summary page. B Autobid To use Autobid, select the maximum amount you're willing to pay for each item you are bidding on.
Once you have confirmed a bid, you are committed to pay up to the maximum price you have bid for each item if you win. Grays Autobid system compares your bid to other bidders and increases your bid by increments up to your maximum bid amount if necessary to win the auction.
If someone bids higher than your maximum amount, you will receive an email indicating that you have been outbid. If you are trying to Login to your GraysLive account but cannot remember your Password, simply click the "Forgot Password" link and follow the prompts. You will need the Username and Email address that you registered with in order for us to send a Password reset email.
If you have forgotten your Username, you can retrieve this by clicking the "Forgot Username" link from the "Forgot Password" page on live. You will need to have the email address that you used to register your GraysLive account with. What are Simulcast Live Auctions? These auctions are traditional auctions held at one of our facilities or any onsite location so you can choose to buy online through the bidding system or attend the auction to bid in person.
How to bid online in a Live Auction? You will need to be logged in to your GraysLive account and registered for the auction in order to bid online.
Before the live auction has begun or during the live auction, provided that the relevant lot is not currently being offered or has not already been sold, you are able to place online absentee bids or pre-bids. See the below FAQs in relation to absentee bids. Once the Live Auction has begun you can place online bids real-time in the GraysLive bidding applet. Please refer to clauses 5. What is an absentee bid? Absentee bids are bids for an item in a live auction that are placed in advance by a bidder that is either not able to attend the auction or unable to bid live online on the day.
Absentee bids are submitted to us for us to execute on your behalf during the auction. Absentee bids can be left at anytime prior to the auction or for absentee bids placed online only , even during the live auction providing that the relevant lot is not currently being offered or already sold in the live auction.
How to leave absentee bids online? To leave an absentee bid online, you will need to be logged in to your GraysLive account and registered for the auction.
Visit the online catalogue for the auction that interests you, then browse or search for lots on your computer, tablet, or mobile device. You will be asked to confirm your bid and receive an email notification that your bid has been placed. Please refer to clause 5. Placing multiple absentee bids online? You will be asked to confirm your bids and receive an email notification that your bids have been placed.
Keeping track of absentee bids online? Logged in users can keep track of bids including seeing if they are the current highest bidder on a relevant lot at any time by clicking on the "My Live Auction Items" link at the top of the page of their GraysLive account. I placed an absentee bid online and received an outbid notification? If you have placed an absentee bid on a lot online and receive an email that you have been outbid, this means that another bidder has placed a higher absentee bid on the same lot.
This gives you the opportunity to increase your absentee bid and still have a chance of winning that lot. If you do not want to increase your bid, you might consider bidding on a different lot in the Auction. How can I see the items that I am bidding on online? Here you will be able to see any live lots that you have placed a bid on online.
Bidding live online? Check the date and start time of the auction and make sure you are online at the correct time. The Per Item Fee is not the Buyers Premium , it is a separate unlisted fee, only seen when you make the bid or click on the Shipping Calculator.
I can understand that some items require packaging and handling more than others, especially awkward and fragile items, but it is the speculation of this auction watcher at least, that this fee is also used on occasions to ensure a final value price above their own reserve.
Tip: Understand the full final value of an item you are bidding on including buyers premium, item fee, and shipping. Here you can buy multiple items and only pay one shipping fee, although you will still need to pay per item fee for each item. These are almost like traditional auctions and at least the bidding is likely reduced to locals, hopefully improving your chances of a great buy, plus, you can save on item fees and freight.
Buyers premium is a fee added to the final bid price it can range from It is displayed on the sale page and item page. Please be sure to add it on when calculating your max bid.
Examples are Lenovo and Dell who push a lot of stock through the online auction platform. Generally, these are newish models that have been returned under warranty and repaired by the manufacturer. Select an Autobid amount that is higher than your current Autobid 4.

How is shipping calculated? The shipping calculator is a tool available on our website to ensure you are able to view all freight charges before bidding on a particular item.
The Shipping Calculator calculates the cost to deliver item s to a nominated postcode and it includes handling, packaging and insurance. Simply click on the Truck symbol and it will automatically calculate freight charges to your registered delivery address. Freight to your postcode will then be broken down into 'shipment rate' and 'per item rate'.
We are unable to consolidate freight on certain items, such as wine, high value jewellery, large palletised items, supermarket lines and certain artworks. Where is my delivery? Your goods will be delivered to the address registered with Grays.
After you have completed your purchase, and your goods are dispatched from one of our warehouses, you will receive a dispatch email. Your dispatch email will let you know which courier company is delivering your goods, the expected delivery timeframe and how you can track your delivery online.
Our delivery timeframes can range between business days; this is because Grays products are sent from warehouses all over the country, even internationally. We also use many courier companies to ensure our deliveries run as smooth as possible. If you have made multiple purchases, you may receive more than one dispatch email, each with the details of the individual deliveries.
