Fringe Division goes rogue in their most dangerous mission yet. The year is and the overpowering Observers rule. The Fringe team - preserved in amber for 20 years - is now a rebel resistance team fighting for freedom. Peter, reunited with his now adult daughter, Etta, sets out to find out what happened to his wife and Etta's mom - Olivia - as they start their mission to save the world from the Observers.

Desperate, Olivia turns to a person science can't explain - the incarcerated Walter and his chaperone son. The trio form the Fringe division, investigating inexplicable phenomena such as alternate worlds, human test subjects and psychic powers. The Fringe team bonds and expands throughout the show's five seasons, and the story ends in suitably grand fashion.

After discovering an incoming invasion in season 4, Fringe 's fifth and final season chronicles the fight against the Observers to end their dystopian rule over Earth. Largely taking place in the future, Fringe season 5 sees Walter try and assemble a master plan that incorporates a selection of favorite episodes from the show's history.

By changing the timeline and sacrificing his own existence, Walt is able to ensure the Observer dystopia never happened, allowing his son and Olivia to enjoy a bright future together with their daughter. This marked the end of Fringe 's pseudo-science roller coaster. Fringe enjoyed a passionate core following and received plenty of critical praise, so why wasn't the series renewed for a sixth season?

It did the show justice and I was happy with what they did. You can nitpick some points if you want, but stuff gets answered and it was emotionally satisfying for me. Peter and Olivia remember each other, are in the same universe, and have admitted their feelings.

The two-part Season 4 finale was shot as a potential series finale and thus wraps up plenty of Fringe storylines. Plenty of shows kill off characters in a season finale, but how many can say they completely erased one of their main heroes from all of existence? When Walter went on his LSD trip in the winter finale on the show, we saw him begin to remember certain things about Peter before the timeline was reset at the end of season 3.

Zap2It reveals that through Michael, the child Observer, Walter was able to remember moments from the other timelines. In the season finale, Peter decided to forgive Walter and return to the regular universe.

Fox decided to air it during the second season. This was explained during its original airing. Fringe ends with Peter receiving a letter from his father, a drawing of a white tulip, and a look of recognition sparks across his face.
